Angus MacLane: A Creative Mastermind

The folks over at Pixar Post spotted a nifty little "Blocumentary" posted on the official LEGO YouTube channel. The video focuses on none other than Pixarian Angus MacLane, director of BURN-E and the Small Fry. MacLane gives us a closeup look at his admirable collection of LEGO, and he shares with us plenty of his CubeDude creations, inspired by all sorts of famous characters. Naturally, he's got plenty built to resemble some of the most iconic Pixar personas, as well as characters from the Star Wars universe and your favorite Marvel heroes.

Watch the video below:

Angus' library of CubeDudes now consists of a walloping 355 different figures, and the best part is, you can view them all on his Flickr page.

Monsters University TV Spot: Party Hard

June is getting closer and closer, and the excitement just keeps on growing to monstrous size. Check out the latest MU TV spot, which seems to highlight how the film will be bursting with fun. It shows tiny snippets of new footage; my favorite of these is probably the bit when Terri (a dance major) shows off some of his moves while his seemingly irritated older brother Terry frowns in annoyance.

Watch the TV spot below in HD:

Watch Three Fun New 'Cars Toons'

As promised, the three latest Cars Toons which aired Friday night on the Disney Channel (Hiccups, Spinning, and Bugged) have now been posted online. Though only roughly 2 minutes long each, they are all a delight and a neat way to revisit Radiator Springs and its motorized inhabitants. Watch them here:

These are the first Cars Toons to not be part of the Mater's Tall Tales series, and seem to the be the start of a brand new series of Toons called Tales from Radiator Springs. Here's hoping we see more of these fun little shorts in the near future.

Three Mini 'Cars' Shorts to Premiere Tonight on Disney Channel

Pixar Canada has just announced via Twitter that not one, not two, but three new "shorty shorts" (titled Hiccups, Bugged, and Spinning) starring your favorite characters from Cars and Cars 2 will be debuting tonight at 8:21, 8:50, and 9:13 pm on the Disney Channel. The shorts are all directed by Jeremy Lasky and are just under 90 seconds long, but nonetheless it's always quite exciting to see more of the characters from the Cars universe.

For those who don't have access to the Disney Channel, the shorts will be posted onto Disney.com and the official Cars website on Sunday so you'll be able to catch them sooner or later.

Don't miss Hiccups, Bugged, and Spinning tonight on Disney Channel, and see them online this Sunday!

'The Good Dinosaur' Finds Composer

The incredibly talented Thomas Newman is coming back to Pixar, as he recently revealed that he'll be composing the studio's upcoming 2014 flick, The Good Dinosaur, directed by Bob Peterson.

This will mark Newman's third time collaborating with Pixar, after Finding Nemo (2003) and WALL-E (2008), both helmed by Andrew Stanton. I am a huge fan of Newman's scores for both these films, and no doubt he will once more provide a phenomenal score that pulls at the heartstrings and carries the story.

So now, for your listening pleasure, here are two of the most beautiful tracks Newman has done for Pixar, which I am sure you are already quite familiar with and enjoy as much as I do.

You can hear Thomas Newman's latest film score when The Good Dinosaur hits theaters May 30th, 2014.

Viral MU Ads Show Off Colorful New Footage, Website Comes Up

With only about 100 days to go until Monsters University's release in theaters, Pixar is giving the film's marketing campaign everything they've got. Two fantastic new viral advertisements have been posted to the official MU YouTube channel, check them out below.

The ads have some tiny bits of exciting new footage here and there, including little snippets featuring the main characters from the film. Pixar is doing a fantastic job with these university commercials, they make you want to drop what you're doing and go apply at MU. Plus, the animation is simply stunning, but what more can you expect from Pixar?

Also, while there was already a fully-functional and mindbogglingly detailed website for the institution itself, we only just got a site for Monsters University (the film). As of now it doesn't have much that haven't already seen, but expect it to get more updates between now and June.
