Following their newly established tradition to release a Mother's Day-themed promo for their latest feature, Pixar have posted a cute little ad for Monsters University starring Squishy's mom, voiced by Julia Sweeney. Check it out below:

Don't miss Squishy and his #1 fan in theaters next month, and don't forget to wish your mum a very happy Mother's Day!

Pixar Corner Gets Christmassy

Once again, the amazing Paul Robin has provided us with a fantastical new seasonal header for this blog.

In this year's Christmas logo, a snowman's head take the place of the usual Luxo ball. Who knows, maybe this snowman is relative of little Knick from Pixar's 1989 short film Knick Knack.

Big thank you to Paul Robin, who has also posted a new holiday-themed adventure on his blog - don't forget to check that out! Happy Holidays!

Mater Stars in Holiday TV Spot for Disneyland

As Christmas looms ever closer, everyone is beginning to get into the holiday spirit, including the Disneyland Resort. This new TV spot released earlier this month stars Cars' Mater posing as Santa Claus while being pulled by his team of reindeer - no, tractors...reintractors, as he flies over some of the newest parts the resort, including Cars Land, while he sings his own rendition of "Walking in a Winter Wonderland".

It's a nice little commercial, it sure makes me want to visit Anaheim; I know for a fact that Disneyland is gorgeous at Christmastime, this TV spot gives you just a small lick of everything that's in store.

Expect to see a new seasonal logo up on the blog soon! Christmas is just around the corner...

New Easter Logo for Pixar Corner

Paul Robin has once again wowed us by designing another fantastic seasonal logo for this blog. This time, he has added a little Pixar touch to the festive tradition of colorful Easter eggs, and...oh look! The iconic Pixar Luxo ball has been transformed into an Easter egg!

Thanks again to Paul for never disappointing with his astounding contributions of art for this blog! Check out his blog to see what adventures he has gone on lately.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Just wishing all my readers a very happy Valentine's Day! Remember to show appreciation to all your buddies, because, after all, you'd be awfully sad without them! Remember how sad WALL-E was when he thought he had lost EVE?

Also, best Valentine's wishes from Paul Robin!

The "Adventures with Wall-e" blog continues to deliver fantastic pics featuring everyone's favorite little bot!

New Valentine's Day Logo: Merida's Arrows

You've probably noticed the new Valentine's Day logo for the blog that I put up the other day. It has, of course, once again been designed by the very talented Paul Robin to celebrate the celebration of friendship and love. And in case you were wondering, those aren't Cupid's arrow taking aim at the Pixar Corner header - they're arrows shot by a certain Scottish princess that goes by the name of Merida. What else would you expect on a Pixar blog?

As you know, Pixar's Brave is taking aim at theaters this year, so it's quite fitting to have, instead of the usual arrows from the baby in the diaper, arrows from the heroine with the bow!

Also, Paul Robin goes to Hawaii in the latest Paul Robin Adventure! Be sure to check it out!

End of Year (Pixar) News! Happy 2012!

The year of 2011 has come to a close, but that's not stopping Pixar from giving their fans one last thing to talk about this year. Or rather, multiple last things to talk about.

Unfortunately, not all of this is exactly good news. UPMAD (the Untitled Pixar Movie About Dinosaurs), which was announced at D23 Expo earlier this year and is currently in production at the Emeryville-based studio, being directed by Bob Peterson (co-director of Up; voice of Dug) has had its release date taken away by Disney's new film, Frozen, formerly titled The Snow Queen.

The new Pixar film about dinosaurs living in the modern world was set for release on November 27, 2013, but is now left without a certain release date until further notice.

The news broke about a week ago, when Disney's calendar read "Frozen" on the 27 of November, 2013, which led many to think that Bob Peterson's dino-film had been given this new title. However, it was soon announced that "Frozen" was simply the new title for Disney's The Snow Queen.

So once again, an attempt to release more than one Pixar feature film in the same year has been jeopardized.

On the happier side, Pixar's 2011 spy film, Cars 2, now holds the title for the most successful animated movie of the year. It even made the top-ten list of the overall highest grossing films of 2011, coming in seventh place, above three of the years blockbusters; Thor, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and Captain America: The First Avenger.

Mater and McQueen raked in a total of $551,852,396 worldwide at the box office this year, with $191,452,396 of the film's earnings made in the US and Canada.

Pixar honcho John Lasseter was recently over at the currently in-construction Cars Land at Disney's California Adventure (it opens this coming summer) testing out the spectacular new ride, "Luigi's Flying Tires".

"This was awesome!" he says. Check it out:

Cars Land will opens its doors summer 2012! Another thing to look forward to this new year!

Last but not least, Brave was recently listed on both Yahoo! and Rotten Tomatoes as one of 2012's most anticipated films! So I guess passionate Pixar fans are not the only ones looking forward to Pixar's first fairy tale, set in the highlands of medieval Scotland. Can't wait for Merida to hit the big screen!

So I guess this concludes 2011 here at Pixar Corner. It's been an amazing year. Cars 2 came out, Toy Story 3 won two Oscars, Pixar celebrated its 25th anniversary, the Toy Story Toons kicked off, and Pixar Corner turned one year old! And these are just a very short few of the spectacular, amazing, incredible things that happened this year.

There are a whole lot of things to look forward to in 2012, some being the release of Brave, and Finding Nemo being re-released in 3D (and most likely in Blu-ray). So prepare yourself, it's going to be a fantastic year.

See you in 2012.

Pixar Corner Celebrates the Holiday Season!

Once again, we have a brand new logo to correspond with the time of year. Christmas is just around the corner (pun intended), and to celebrate, Pixar Corner has an all new seasonal logo just for the 2011 holidays!

As all previous logos, this new piece of art was created by the very talented artist, Paul Robin. Be sure to visit his blog here.

Paul Robin tells me that the story behind this new Christmas logo takes place during nighttime...the night before Christmas. While delivering presents, Santa has dropped his hat in the corner...more specifically, Pixar Corner.

Look forward to more fantastic art from Paul, some thrilling Pixar news, and an exciting holiday season!

Happy Halloween 2011!

Can you believe Halloween is already here?

The festival of thrills, chills, pumpkins, and of course, candy, brings new surprises every year. Pixar fans also always come up with new ways to infuse the beloved characters into their Halloween celebrations. For example, costumes of Pixar characters are very popular among children and adults alike, and the characters from the animated films also make fantastic Jack O' Lanterns!

This year, I dressed up in a homemade Woody costume, and carved a Mike Wazowski pumpkin.

Check out this brilliant Halloween costume, inspired by the famous Pixar Luxo lamp!

I hope everyone had a safe and pleasant Halloween! And don't forget, Cars 2 comes out on DVD and Blu-ray tomorrow!

Fall has arrived at Pixar Corner!

Fall has just begun, and to celebrate, we have an all new seasonal alteration of the Pixar Corner logo! This amazing new logo was, once again, generously created by Paul Robin. As you can see, it's the same concept as the original logo, but with a few special modifications to make it feel like autumn has really arrived.

The biggest difference is probably that the classic Luxo ball has been replaced with a pumpkin, and not just any pumpkin...a pumpkin with Mike Wazowski's face carved into it! After all, what better way to represent Pixar and fall than with a Mike Wazowski Jack O' Lantern? Also, you probably noticed the change in colours in the background, to give it that autumn feeling.

I hope you all enjoy the Fall 2011 Edition of the Pixar Corner logo, and most of all, I hope you all have a wonderful fall! We also have a couple of Pixar events happening this season, like the release of the latest Toy Story Toon, Small Fry on November 23, and the arrival of Cars 2 on home video on November 2! So keep coming back here to Pixar Corner, because there's a lot of Pixar news and excitement coming this fall!

Special thanks to Paul for creating another masterpiece for Pixar Corner! Be sure to check out his blog, "The Adventures of Paul Robin"!

Happy Valentine's Day! From Pixar Corner

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Remember to tell all your friends and family how much they mean to you. After all, life would be terrible without the people you love.

Let's look at some Pixar examples, of characters that really care about each other.

Just imagine Mike without Sulley...

...Ken without Barbie...

...If The Incredibles weren't united as a family, they wouldn't be so incredible...

...and imagine how sad a place Radiator Springs would be if McQueen and Mater weren't best buds...

...and who would dare wonder what the world would be like if Woody and Buzz weren't friends for infinity and beyond...

Happy Valentine's Day! ;)
