Four Years Later...

Exactly four years ago today, I opened up this little blog dedicated to the work of Pixar Animation Studios. I never could have foretold what would follow.

Here we are now in 2014, a relatively slow year in terms of Pixar news, what with no new Pixar feature film until 2015. It would be easy to merely shut this blog down and be done with it, but that's not something I plan on doing anytime soon, because I know it would likely end up being one of the biggest regrets of my life. In the past four years, Pixar Corner has opened so many doors for me, and it's also given me the privilege of meeting some wonderful people, both in person and through social media. I have also been incredibly, unbelievably fortunate to have been able to visit both Pixar's HQ in Emeryville, California and Pixar Canada in Vancouver, Canada (before its unfortunate closure in October, which still has me feeling pretty bummed out). A huge thank you goes out to Pixar publicist Chris Wiggum and Pixar Canada General Manager and VP Amir Nasrabadi, who made those once-in-a-lifetime experiences possible. If either of you is reading this, know that you made one of my childhood dreams into reality, and that's a debt I don't think I'll ever be able to repay.

A shoutout also to the very talented Paul Robin, who continues to spruce up this blog with his very inventive seasonal headers. Don't forget to check out his blog!

I'd also like to thank my fellow bloggers and Twitter buddies, with whom it is always a pleasure to interact and share opinions, and my readers, both the ones who have been here from the start and the ones just tuning in. And of course, thank you to all the artists and storytellers at Pixar, who have continued to entertain and inspire me throughout my entire life.

Here's to another four years of blogging!

Pixar Corner Gets Christmassy

Once again, the amazing Paul Robin has provided us with a fantastical new seasonal header for this blog.

In this year's Christmas logo, a snowman's head take the place of the usual Luxo ball. Who knows, maybe this snowman is relative of little Knick from Pixar's 1989 short film Knick Knack.

Big thank you to Paul Robin, who has also posted a new holiday-themed adventure on his blog - don't forget to check that out! Happy Holidays!

New Seasonal Header: Halloween 2012

This week, I put up this year's brand-new Halloween header for the blog, as you may have noticed. Paul Robin, the fantastic artist that provides all the seasonal headers for Pixar Corner, never fails to impress with his artwork.

In last year's Halloween logo, the classic Pixar luxo ball was replaced by a jack o' lantern with the face of Mike Wazowski. This year, however, the ball seems to have acquired a couple of pimples, a large, ugly, crooked nose, and to top it all off, a pointy witch's hat. Perhaps it is taking on the form of the witch from this year's Brave.

Paul Robin has also put up a new adventure on his personal blog, where he and his friend Timmy Worm dress up as the Dynamic Duo! Be sure to check out his blog and suggest your very own Paul Robin adventure!

We hope you like the header; look forward to seeing even more phenomenal Paul Robin logos on this blog very soon!

What will you be dressing up as for Halloween this year?

Pixar Corner Welcomes the Summer!

The time of year for sunny days and beach trips has once again arrived, and to celebrate, Pixar Corner has a new header logo honoring the sunny season.

Once again, the artwork is provided by the incredibly talented artist Paul Robin, who has also designed all previous Pixar Corner logos. Be sure to check out Paul's blog, where you can suggest your own adventure for Paul Robin to go on!

In the new logo, the iconic Luxo ball enjoys the summer sunshine while sporting some sweet sunglasses.

Enjoy your summer, and we hope you like the new seasonal logo!

New Easter Logo for Pixar Corner

Paul Robin has once again wowed us by designing another fantastic seasonal logo for this blog. This time, he has added a little Pixar touch to the festive tradition of colorful Easter eggs, and...oh look! The iconic Pixar Luxo ball has been transformed into an Easter egg!

Thanks again to Paul for never disappointing with his astounding contributions of art for this blog! Check out his blog to see what adventures he has gone on lately.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Just wishing all my readers a very happy Valentine's Day! Remember to show appreciation to all your buddies, because, after all, you'd be awfully sad without them! Remember how sad WALL-E was when he thought he had lost EVE?

Also, best Valentine's wishes from Paul Robin!

The "Adventures with Wall-e" blog continues to deliver fantastic pics featuring everyone's favorite little bot!

Happy Valentine's Day From Pixar Corner!

New Valentine's Day Logo: Merida's Arrows

You've probably noticed the new Valentine's Day logo for the blog that I put up the other day. It has, of course, once again been designed by the very talented Paul Robin to celebrate the celebration of friendship and love. And in case you were wondering, those aren't Cupid's arrow taking aim at the Pixar Corner header - they're arrows shot by a certain Scottish princess that goes by the name of Merida. What else would you expect on a Pixar blog?

As you know, Pixar's Brave is taking aim at theaters this year, so it's quite fitting to have, instead of the usual arrows from the baby in the diaper, arrows from the heroine with the bow!

Also, Paul Robin goes to Hawaii in the latest Paul Robin Adventure! Be sure to check it out!

Be sure to be on the look out for some of these really cool holiday-themed Cars die cast collectibles! There are plenty more besides this Reindeer Mater and Snow-Plow McQueen, including a "Decked Out" Doc Hudson! Collect them all; they make excellent Christmas decorations!

That's all for now, but stay tuned, as the coming year will surely be full of many delightful Pixar surprises!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone, and I wish you all the best in 2012!

Pixar Corner Celebrates the Holiday Season!

Once again, we have a brand new logo to correspond with the time of year. Christmas is just around the corner (pun intended), and to celebrate, Pixar Corner has an all new seasonal logo just for the 2011 holidays!

As all previous logos, this new piece of art was created by the very talented artist, Paul Robin. Be sure to visit his blog here.

Paul Robin tells me that the story behind this new Christmas logo takes place during nighttime...the night before Christmas. While delivering presents, Santa has dropped his hat in the corner...more specifically, Pixar Corner.

Look forward to more fantastic art from Paul, some thrilling Pixar news, and an exciting holiday season!

Fall has arrived at Pixar Corner!

Fall has just begun, and to celebrate, we have an all new seasonal alteration of the Pixar Corner logo! This amazing new logo was, once again, generously created by Paul Robin. As you can see, it's the same concept as the original logo, but with a few special modifications to make it feel like autumn has really arrived.

The biggest difference is probably that the classic Luxo ball has been replaced with a pumpkin, and not just any pumpkin...a pumpkin with Mike Wazowski's face carved into it! After all, what better way to represent Pixar and fall than with a Mike Wazowski Jack O' Lantern? Also, you probably noticed the change in colours in the background, to give it that autumn feeling.

I hope you all enjoy the Fall 2011 Edition of the Pixar Corner logo, and most of all, I hope you all have a wonderful fall! We also have a couple of Pixar events happening this season, like the release of the latest Toy Story Toon, Small Fry on November 23, and the arrival of Cars 2 on home video on November 2! So keep coming back here to Pixar Corner, because there's a lot of Pixar news and excitement coming this fall!

Special thanks to Paul for creating another masterpiece for Pixar Corner! Be sure to check out his blog, "The Adventures of Paul Robin"!

Paul Robin's "Toy Story - Halloween" Adventure!

The autumn season has just arrived, and Halloween is fast approaching, so many people are already out there hunting for the perfect costume to wear this season. Paul Robin, designer of the Pixar Corner logo which this blog proudly wears, and his friend Timmy Worm have already got their costumes picked out!

On his blog, Paul recently posted this phenomenal piece of art of Paul and Timmy dressed up as Buzz and Woody for Halloween. Read his post here.

A months ago I myself requested that Paul and Timmy dress up as Woody and Buzz, and so Paul went right ahead and created this fabulous piece of art. On his blog, Paul encourages all his readers to share their ideas for a "Paul Robin Adventure" so that he can bring these ideas to life! Visit Paul's blog here, and see if you can come up with anything that will put this talented artist to work!

I really encourage you to visit Paul Robin's blog; you have seen what a great artist he is, and you can serve as fuel to help him share even more masterpieces.

The Adventures of Paul Robin have just begun! Share your creative ideas for an adventure and he'll bring them to life, just like he did with mine!

New Logo For Pixar Corner!

As you have probably seen, Pixar Corner now has an all new logo! It was creatively designed by my friend Paul Robin. As you can see, the new logo has the iconic Pixar rubber ball in the corner of a room, which, of course, represents Pixar Corner. I hope you like this new original logo just as much as I do!

A very special thanks to Paul Robin for designing the new logo! Also, please leave your thoughts and opinions on what you think about this new logo in the comments section!
