Finding Nemo Swims Onto Blu-ray!

Just when you thought your Christmas wishlist was complete, one of the most beloved animated films of all time arrives on Blu-ray in glorious high-definition.

If you watched Finding Nemo 3D in theaters back in September and were left dumbfounded, bewildered, and just plain bamboozled, then I suggest purchasing the new Ultimate Collector's Edition Blu-ray of the film, which just so happens to include the 3D version of the film. If you're not that big on 3D but still love the film and would delight in owning it on Blu-ray, there's also the regular Collector's Edition.

This is a must-have for any Pixar fan, and for film fans in general. It's been said countless times before, but Finding Nemo is one beautiful-looking movie, so just imagine seeing that movie with pristine video quality and unbelievable audio.

Finding Nemo 3D @ the Box Office

Finding Nemo 3D has been playing in North American theaters for two weekends now, and it sure looks like the classic animated film has brought a couple people out to see it.

On its opening weekend, Nemo 3D grossed  $16.7 million, and nabbed the No. 2 spot at the box office for that weekend, behind Resident Evil: Retribution. That was in North America; it earned $5.1 million in a total of seven different foreign markets. It has had the weakest opening for a 3D re-release this year, however. This weekend, it landed in the No. 4 spot with $9.6 million.

Hopefully Nemo manages to gross a little more during its brief return to theaters before it finally arrives on Blu-ray.

Review: Finding Nemo 3D Is Astonishing

Well, it's been a week since I headed over to the theater to check out the latest Pixar 3D re-release, so I'd say it's time to post my review.

Where do I begin? I was very, very excited to see Finding Nemo 3D from the moment it was announced; the film remains to this day one of my favorite movies of all time, so getting the chance to experience it in theaters once again more than nine years after its initial release was a dream come true for me. If it hadn't been flawlessly converted into 3D, I would have paid the price of admission nonetheless. There's just something special about going to see a movie on the big screen. Especially when that movie is a true masterpiece.

The films remains the exact same classic that was released almost a decade ago; same story, characters, and touching message. One of the major highlights of Nemo has always been the characters that carry the story. Every single one of them in endearing and funny in their own way; you love them from the start and root for them immensely until the very end. They make for a very entertaining film, and you can't help but smile when you see them on screen. Finding Nemo also packs quite the emotional punch, as many of Pixar's films do. Despite the fact that I've seen the film countless times before, I found myself on the verge of tears watching it last week. This movie is more than just a cute little fish story, a lot more.

Finding Nemo truly is the perfect film for the 3D format. It really is. It has everything a 3D movie should have, and it uses 3D very effectively, without ever exaggerating it in a way that it becomes annoyingly distracting (Monsters vs. Aliens comes to mind). After ten minutes or so, you'll have become oblivious to everything around you because you'll be so ridiculously immersed in both the gorgeous underwater world of the film and its story. The characters are right there in front of you, and you follow them on this unbelievable journey that becomes even more more unbelievable after you encounter three vegan sharks, a vicious anglerfish, a school of impressionist moonfish, a forest of jellyfish, a surfer-dude sea turtle, and a majestic blue whale. There is a sense of depth throughout the entire film, giving the magnificent illusion that you really are in this beautiful aquatic world. You can see all these little particles peacefully floating around in the water, and it makes the experience all the more magical. Bottom line, Finding Nemo is the film to see in 3D. So if you haven't already gone and seen it, hurry up and get your butt to the theater.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If you're hesitating on whether or not you should spend money on going to the theater to see a film that you've probably already seen a million times before, don't. Finding Nemo 3D is worth every penny, and I am dead serious. It is easily the best film I have ever seen in 3D, and heck, even without the 3D it's an insanely beautiful film with an insanely beautiful story. Plus, you'll even get to see the new short Partysaurus Rex, which is an absolute blast (stay tuned for a review).

So I'll leave it at this: go see Finding Nemo 3D, you will not regret it.

Finding Nemo 3D Now In Theaters!

The wait is over folks. More than nine years after its original release in theaters, Pixar's classic Finding Nemo has returned to theaters after being converted to 3D. This marks the first Pixar 3D re-release after the Toy Story/Toy Story 2 double feature in 2009. Also, Partysaurus Rex, the third in the Toy Story Toons series, is now playing alongside Nemo 3D in theaters.

You might be wondering if it's worth paying to go see a film that you've likely seen many times before, with the only difference being that it's playing in 3D this time. You might even be one of those people that find 3D overrated and may see no point whatsoever in all these re-releases that we've been getting lately. However, this is Finding Nemo we're talking about, one of the most visually-stunning films to ever come from Pixar - and quite possibly one of the most visually-stunning films that have ever been made in general. There's nearly no doubt in my mind that this film, with all its aquatic settings and vibrant colors, would look absolutely breathtaking in 3D.

So my advice to you would simply be: go see it.

Finding Nemo 3D Premire Pics

Don't miss out on Finding Nemo 3D during its short run in theaters! Even if you skipped Beauty and the Beast,  The Phantom Menace, and Titanic, this is one re-release that you must see (or should I say, sea)!

Finding Nemo Set To Be Spectacular In 3D

This Finding Nemo 3D featurette was recently posted online, and after watching it, I am probably ten times more excited to see the classic animated film in cinemas next month.

Watch as Andrew Stanton, John Lasseter, Lee Unkrich, and other Pixarians talk about how Nemo is "the perfect film in 3D".

When I first heard about the Finding Nemo 3D re-release, I knew right from the start that the entire film would look breathtaking in the 3D format. But the thought about the "particulate matter" found in the ocean that John Lasseter talks about in the video had never crossed my mind. Nemo was a beautiful-looking film before being converted to 3D, so expect to be blown away by it when it returns to theaters in the third dimension.

New 'Partysaurus Rex' Clip

A 40-second clip from the new Toy Story Toon has been posted onto the official Disney/Pixar YouTube channel.

This short sneak peek at Partysaurus Rex sets the stage for what we can expect to see in the new Toon. Rex, wanting to shake up his reputation a little bit, helps the bathtub toys (who all lack arms and limbs) get their "party" started by filling up the tub with water and, of course, bubbles! The dried-out bathtub quickly becomes the stage for a bright, loud, and colorful bubble-filled rave! Watch the exhilarating clip below.

I'm already loving the sound of BT's score for the short, and cannot wait to see it in action next month when the new Toon arrives with Nemo 3D. Speaking of Finding Nemo, the starfish seen jumping into the tub in the clip has striking resemblance to Peach the starfish.

This short film also happens to be the second Pixar short scored by Grammy-nominated musician BT, who previously did the music for Tokyo Mater.

First Glimpse: Toy Story Toon 'Partysaurus Rex'

Some rumors had been going around lately about a new entry into the Toy Story Toons series entitled Partysaurus Rex. On Thursday, Entertainment Weekly debuted two exclusive images from the new short film, which will play in theaters in front of Finding Nemo 3D.

This will mark the third of the Toy Story Toons, after Hawaiian Vacation and Small Fry, and will focus mainly on the lovable and not-so-fearsome dinosaur from the films, Rex. Wallace Shawn, who voiced the character in all three films and the first two Toons, explains that Rex is "sick of being the angel of goodness and sensibleness and caution and fear".

It sure looks like this is going to be an extremely bright, colorful, and bubbly short film, as we get to see what bathtime is like from a toy's point of view. Sounds superb.

Pixarian Mark Walsh will get his shot at directing a short with this new Toy Story Toon. "If you’re a bath toy you get really intense playtime. It’s like a party," he says.

As always, the amount of detail Pixar is putting into this new short is breathtaking. In the second image with Bonnie in the bathtub, you can even see a few of those classic hidden Easter eggs. The toilet seat cover does somewhat resemble a certain monster from a previous Pixar film...

Also, the decorations on the bathtub might be references to some of the fish from Finding Nemo. After all, Partysaurus Rex will be playing before Nemo 3D next month.

The closer Finding Nemo 3D gets, the more my excitement grows. I absolutely loved Nemo when I first saw it in 2003 (I remember seeing it twice in theaters), so I am hyped to relive the experience of seeing it on the big screen once again, as I am sure many fans are.

Finding Nemo 3D: New Trailer!

Pixar has released the first full-length trailer for their 3D re-release of Finding Nemo, set to arrive in theaters in September later this year. Sometimes, I just don't see the point in all the 3D re-releases that seem to be taking place lately, but Nemo is a total exception. Can you imagine seeing that gorgeous underwater landscape in the third-dimension? I have high hopes for Nemo 3D, so this new trailer greatly excites me.

With 2012 now in full swing, we are starting to get our first little bits of news regarding the Finding Nemo re-release - in breathtaking 3D.

Ellen DeGeneres, who actually voiced Dory the Regal Blue Tang in the 2003 underwater Pixar hit, recently mentioned Nemo's 3D re-release on her show. She even shared with the audience a brand-new "updated"clip from the film, which by the looks of it has had a little bit of modern technology and pop culture induced into it.

Also, the official trailer for Finding Nemo 3D has made its debut in theaters before screenings of Disney's Beauty and the Beast 3D, but has also now been posted online. I can't imagine how incredible the underwater world will look in 3D on the big screen!

'Nemo' and 'Monsters' Set to Return in 3D!

Seeing as The Lion King has been rocking the box office lately in 3D, and how Pixar's Toy Story and Toy Story 2 Double Feature in 3D back in 2009 got tons of people running to the theater, it comes as no surprise that Disney has decided to re-release four of their most beloved films in theaters,  and this time the four classics are being given the honour of being screened in the miraculous third-dimension. Out of these four films which will be getting the 3D treatment soon, two of them are, of course, Pixar films.

Returning soon in 3D are the Disney classic (and the first ever animated film to be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars) Beauty and the Beast on January 13, 2012, Pixar's beloved Finding Nemo on September 14, 2012, the other all-time Pixar favorite Monsters, Inc. on January 18, 2013 (only a few months before its prequel Monsters University hits theaters), and last but not least, one of Disney's most famous tales, The Little Mermaid on September 13, 2013.

I am very excited to see all four of these films return to the big screen; I have great memories with all these movies. Beauty and the Beast has always been my favorite Disney Princess film, and I was always quite fond of the characters from The Little Mermaid. As for the two Pixar films, they are to this day still on my list of all time favorite films of all time. I remember watching Nemo in theaters (twice) when it came out in 2003, and watching Monsters over and over again at home on DVD...which I continue to do in the present day.

All these films are going to look amazing in 3D, but in my opinion, Finding Nemo is going to look the most stunning. After all, it has all the depth of the ocean, which should look fantastic in 3D, plus there are so many other breath-taking scenes, which 3D will probably bring to full power. For example, the jellyfish scene will look unreal if any previous 3D releases are any indication. If you ask me, some people in the theater may even start getting a little nervous due to the fact that there will be gigantic jellyfish right in front of their faces. And don't forget the astonishing high-speed ride with the sea turtles! That is going to look (and feel) unbelievable!

As for Monsters, Inc., I really think that the most eye-grabbing scene in 3D will be the famous door chase at the factory. If you've watched Monsters, Inc., I think you know what I mean.

We still haven't heard many details on the previously announced Ratatouille 3D re-release, however, so it's very probable that this one will be released after Nemo and Monsters, possibly in 2015 or 2016, but only time will tell. Luckily, we can now see that as time progresses more and more of Pixar's classic films are being converted to the 3D format, so we may even see A Bug's Life in 3D someday, which would be amazing!

I think that bringing all these cherished films back to theaters many years later is an excellent idea; it gives all those who grew up with the stories a second chance to relive the excitement of watching the films in the theater for the first time. And as for the younger generations, they may already be quite familiar with the movies, but they now get the chance to, for the first time, see them in theaters. On top of all this, we now get to see the movies in an all the experience...in epic 3D!
